What is EC Technology? EC, which stands for Electronically Commutated, combines AC and DC voltages, allowing motors to run on a DC voltage while using a standard AC power supply. EC motors offer several benefits over traditional motor types.

The lack of brushes in EC motors means they do not spark or suffer from short lifespans due to brush wear. Additionally, the electronic control of the stator eliminates power waste, resulting in better performance and cooler operation compared to induction motors. Small EC motors can also achieve the same output as larger traditional DC or AC motors.

Power distribution is cleaner with EC motors, as they can connect directly to the AC mains without requiring a separate DC power supply or adding extra complexity. EC motors are also less dependent on voltage or frequency fluctuations, with small changes in voltage having minimal impact on motor output.

The EC Fan The EC fan offers several advantages over traditional AC fans. It is more energy-efficient and produces a stronger airflow, while operating within a wide voltage range of 80V to 270V, allowing it to function on a variety of power supplies, such as 110V, 115V, 120V, 220V, or 240V, without affecting the fan speed.

The 80mm x 80mm x 25mm EC fan delivers an airflow of 43.6 ±10% CFM, consuming only 2W of power and running at 2800 RPM. The larger 120mm x 120mm x 38mm EC fan provides an airflow of 116 ±10% CFM, with a power consumption of 6W and a speed of 2800 RPM.

Both EC fans feature dual-ball bearings, which have a lifespan of 67,000 hours and allow the fans to be positioned flat or upright. The fans are supplied with a power plug, but the wires are not pre-connected, allowing for versatility in various project applications that may require custom wiring.
